Thermo/fluids Laboratory

The Thermo/Fluids Laboratory (TFL) is the newest facility in the School of Engineering & Computer Science.  The lab has dual purposes, focusing both on undergraduate education and on experimental research in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.   The TFL team uses advanced diagnostic methods to study a variety of complex engineering issues, such as electronics cooling, nanofluidics, micro-flow control, and bio-inspired fluid dynamics.  Current research projects include the application of carbon nanotubes for bio-sensors and the study of volcanic jet fluid dynamics.
